The exercises themselves are in the true Pilates style with an emphasis on correct posture which is something vital in pregnancy.
A safe and effective Pilates programme which takes into account all the changes your body is going through whilst pregnant. The series of exercises will be designed especially for you and your pregnancy from 16 weeks onwards and from 6 weeks after the birth, and will make your pregnancy more comfortable, prepare you for the rigours of labour and for the demands of motherhood, helping you to get back into shape more quickly afterwards!
You will work the pelvic floor muscles as well as learning to release them, in readiness to ease the first stage of labour and to gain greater control during delivery itself, soon returning to normal after the birth. As well as focusing on these deep postural (core) muscles, integeral for comfortable and conrolled birthing and post natal comfort, special attention will also be paid to stabising the joints and working to strengthen the upper body. Pilates will help you to feel good about yourself, but by boosting your body’s lymphatic, circulatory and other systems, it will also promote optimal health for both you and your baby.
Classes can be held at my home or yours and are taught on a 1:1 basis for the reason that pregnancy is a unique and individual experience for each and every woman...
